Locking the mounting plate for the Kawi mount for GPS

Post by jimb47 »

I had the Kawasaki GPS mount (part number K53020-389) put on my bike. I noticed the mounting plate has a small range of motion and won't stay in the most upright position. I'm wondering if anyone knows how to lock the mounting plate in that upright position, and if so, if they'd kindly share that info? Thanks in advance for your help!

Update:

Kawasaki Customer Service couldn't tell me how to lock it in the most upright position. They did tell me who manufactured the piece for them, so I called them, and they told me they built the piece to the specs provided by the requester, Kawasaki. In short, I got nowhere with either Kawasaki or the manufacturer.

I've tried jamming a piece of a grommet in the space behind the mounting plate and that has helped a little.

It would really be nice if they actually road tested the mounting plate they sell to see if it actually works!
