How much air in the shocks?
I plan on switching over to progressive next month, but in the meantime... How much air should I put in the front and rear shocks and forks? Right now I have what the book calls for, but the front end is a little bouncy still. Better, but bouncy. I heard of some people running as much as 16 psi in the front. Does anyone have a good combination for front and rear to help with a bouncy front end? I'll welcome tire pressure recommendations as well! I know it's a silly question, but I figured someone might have found something they like.

Re: How much air in the shocks?
8.5lbs in front, NO MORE!! or you stand a very good chance of blowing the seals. If your front end is bouncy it is not from air in shocks, the air is only there to keep it from bottoming out on large jolts. Your front springs & bushings and oil are probably shot. Tires at front: 38lbs, rear @41lbs, rear shocks at 35lbs to 40lbs set on 2 or 3.
How many miles & years on the XII and how much weight are you riding with?
Progressives front & rear with Belray or Golden Spectro 10wt fork oil & you will not believe it is the same XII. go for it ASAP!!! & Ride Safe!!

Re: How much air in the shocks?
Thank you! My father is on his second Voyager, so luckily I knew not to fill it up more than what the manual said! I just wanted to check! I forgot about setting the shocks to 2 or 3. The Voyager has 32,000 miles on it and it's a 1994. It had been sitting a few years though. The guy I bought it from got it going again, but I don't think it has been on the road in at least 3 or 4 years. I usually ride with my little brother. I am 310 lbs and he isn't too heavy. I agree with you on Progressive though! My father's first Voyager had progressive front springs, and he immediately put Progressive springs on his second one. It is night and day difference! I plan on switching over next month, possibly sooner!doug of so fla wrote:8.5lbs in front, NO MORE!! or you stand a very good chance of blowing the seals.
