Re: Just bought a parts bike
I had a 4 wheeler (pick-up truck) talking on his cell phone turn our 1995 Voyager 1200 into a parts bike, but we found 1998 Xll for next to nothing, the person we bought the 98 off of had bad knees and couldn't ride double, he bought the Voyager in March 2011 and put it for sale April 2011 we bought it Oct 2011, nobody wanted it because it had over 166,000 miles, we rode it all last summer!! so now I'm taking the low mileage parts, Swingarm, Driveshaft, Rearend and Tires & Wheels, having the forks rebuilt on the 1998, was told they had progressive springs and they are leaking, the 98 had rear progressive shocks, heated grips, superbrace, factory CB, and new E-3 tires that I'll use after I wear out the Conti TK 16 & 17's, I am going to run the hi-mileage engine this summer and change it out next winter with the low mileage engine with a little over 28,000 on it out of the 95 Xll, I'm painting it this spring with Harley's 2012 Ember Red SunGlo & Merlot and need to get the the radio's fixed.
