Saddle Bag Reflectors 02 XII
Looking to modify my rear saddle bag reflectors to running lights using LED's. Anyone done this? What LED lamp would fit in this tight lens. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Thanks

Did you search the tech tips area of the website? I know several people have made this mod. If you don't find it there, I'm sure someone will post up a procedure before too long.

Thanks, Yes I did and the only thing I can find on this and other forums is the rear trunk and rear fender light conversion. I have allready done these and doing this mod would make it look like one solid light accross the saddle bags and fender like the trunk. It would also look stock.

I believe Chris from Kansas city has this mod on his '01. You might want to send him a PM.

He has them, but he didn't put them in. Mike Soden installed them when he owned the bike. Some pictures here: http://geehom6969.easycgi.com/usefulinf ... %20mod.pdf
Basically, you just open a hole, glue or epoxy some sort of holder in place and then stick a rubbery light bulb socket in the hole.

Another good rear signal light mod is the one from Sierra Elec, They have a inexpensive simple kit that you drill a hole in your rear turn signal hsg and install a red led and duriing the day it is not seen but at night it leaves the turn signal red and your amber bulb overrides it when signaling about $15.00, I think. it would further enhance the reflector mod.

Doug, that is how mine works, though it's not LED. I should try taking a picture some night of the back end of the '01. Mike did a fine job of setting everything up.

Thanks Chris for the pictures. We talked about this briefly sitting on the curb at the AVA rally. This gives me some Idea's for my winter project Voyager mod.
Also thanks Doug and Chris for the turn signal mod. I think I will do this also.
