Re: Gas milage
Dealer contacted Ma Kaw. Ma Kaw will be replacing my right hand exhaust under warranty. Bottom line, exhaust should not be blueing due to a lean condition caused by EPA regulations. The only wierd thing about this is that the right and left exhaust pipes merge into one prior to the entering the right muffler. Meaning........there should be no difference between the right and left muffler heat exposure. Oh well....fact is stranger than truth. (not my quote, just stating fact).

Re: Gas milage
Just got back from the Wallowa Lake ride in and my Voyager is finely getting the fuel mileage I've been looking for. After 2,300 miles my fuel mileage was 45.4 mpg. Using 89 Octane, from Shell, Conoco, Chevron, Sinclar and just a few no names. Most of the speeds were 65 to 67, mostly winding two lane back roads. Some Interstate but most was two lane, the worst mileage was coming back into the Bay Area with a 20 mile per hour head wind. This dropped the mileage down to 41 mpg.
I now have 22k on the odo, changed to a K & N airfilter, E 3 rear tire 42 psi, Commander 2 front tire 42 psi. Last is I have a very light right wrist, and I'm using all of the transmission gears, trying to keep the V-twin in the sweet spot of 2,000 to 2,500 rpm.
I really do like my Voyager now, beginning to leave the 1200 behind me.

Re: Gas milage
Having just returned from the AVA Rally in Logan, and the trip was 6,700 miles plus, some insight. First I've only been using 91 octane since I was at the Hill Country Tour with the Lone Star Voyagers.
Before I would get some 50 mpg but not often. Now on this trip most mileage was in the 48 mpg with a lot of 50 and 52 mpg. We ran into strong head winds one day and only got 42 mpg for one tank of gas. Most of the speeds were in the 63 to 65 on my speedo. I've also lowered my idle speed to 700 rpm, makes that shift into first much softer. I'm also able to upshift from first through sixth with out the clutch, with out grinding gears.
Tires are E3 Dunlop front and American elite 180 Dunlop on the rear, both are inflated to 40 psi
I'm remembering my old 1200 but I don't miss it anymore.
