Kawasaki voyager rear tire air pressure check

Post by Scooterkawai1 »

I'm new to the forum and I'm thinking of getting a new voyager. The reviews I've read have been pretty good. My question is looking at the bike at the dealership the rear tire looks hard to get to for checking and adding air. Is this a big deal or am I dreaming? Can anyone give me any thoughts on how you do it? Or any rider input on the bike overall, thanks

It is a bit of a pain to get to. I have to move the bike back and forth until the tire stem is right at the bottom. My bike has the right-angle stem so it's not difficult to use once I get it properly positioned. If you don't have the 90-degree stem, you might want to get one. I wish I had one for the front tire but I've been too lazy to make the switch and besides it is much easier to position.

Thanks, yeah it looks like kind of a tight spot. My dealer suggested the 90 degree valve stem

I have a 2012 and it came with a 90 degree stem on the rear. I've also got a spare wheel from a 2009 Voyager and it also came with a 90 degree stem.

Checking the air on the rear is simple but it does require you to get down on you hands and knees.

I have a 2013 Voyager. It has a 90 degree valve stem in the rear. While it's not cheap, I use the Garmin Zumo 390LM with TPMS to check the tire pressure. Makes it real easy. I have checked the accuracy against a good digital tire pressure gauge and it's on the money. Something to consider.
