My New Ride

Post by sgilbert14 »

I just purchased this

2000 Kawasaki ZG1200 Voyager XII
http://www.bobandsonsauto.net/2000_Kawa ... 953324.veh#

To date I have had a 77 Yamaha XS750
92 and my new current bike a 1998 Concours 1000
1984 Venture Royal

The bike is in great shape, garage kept, stored for the past 6 years as the drive is unable to ride, does need a car cleaning and general service. Now, when is Spring.. Now to sell the 98 Concours :woohoo:

Options to pick up: Trailer hitch and then who knows

Looks very clean, proper tires, nice accessory foot pegs. Love the color. Wish I had that front fender extension. Have lots of fun.

Hello from NJ, and welcome to the AVA, Nice 2000 and low mileage. Your going to like this as much as the 750.
I had been an owner of a 77-xs750 also, 156K on it before I let it go.

Thanks for the replies. Now, it appears that the engine on this is almost the same as on my 98 Concours. I am selling that bike but have a new K&N, after market cam adjuster that I just added.. can they be interchanged?

Bring on Spring !!!

Actually it isn't. The Voyager and the first generation Concours were introduced at the same time. The Concours had a 1000cc engine and was sportier in speed and handling. The Voyager by comparison was a tractor. It had a heavy duty high torque engine with self adjusting valves and straight cut gears for heartier load carrying capacity at highway speeds. I owned a ZRX1100 and have noticed a lot of external similarities in the Kawasaki line of engines. If anything the Voyager engine looks more like a water cooled version of the in line four Kawasaki police bikes.

Thanks, part of me is saying to keep both and another is do I need both.. I bought this bike for a few reasons: it looks like great and the talk with the seller made me believe in it and I wanted a bike for long multi state rides and I think I found it in this one! Keep the Concours fir the twisty short range stuff... maybe :woohoo:

... NOT an expert rider, but I don't think you will find the Voyager to be a
slug in the back roads.... just sayin'.....

Awesome! Consider that a gone item.. do you know anything about the wiring that would be needed? I work out of Baltimore and I will check if I can have it sent to the office. It would be a TON cheaper than trying to get it up to the Canadian border in NY.

Do you have a paypal accoun for the payment??

Thanks
Steve :woohoo:

Good Morning, I left you a voice mail last night and my cell number. I am normally free after 6 but no rush as I won't be picking the bike up for some time yet... I do want the hitch so that you can count on.

Thanks
