Electronics and Bluetooth help

OK. Who is the electronics whiz here. If MrClean ever responds to me, he has offered to sell his CB, which I would love to install on my 1700. THEN, I would like to go wireless with a Bluetooth adapter and wireless commo for our helmets. Hpoefully the radio and the CB will all work like this but I am a bit lost as to how this will all work.

OK. I found that the Sena Freewire is available with the Harley 7-wire plug OR the Goldwing 5-wire plug. The real question here is Are the 5-wire plug pin-outs the same on the Goldwing as the 1700 Voyager? Anyone? ... Anyone? ... Bueler?

If they are a match, we are golden.

Can't you just buy the say, Honda cable, then match the wires up to the Voyager? I'm not familiar with the Freewire product, I use the SR-10 I sent info on and the SENA SMH-10 bluetooth helmet devices to connect to the wife''s helmet, our cell phone, and either a portable CB radio, or my Ham radio set. We can listen to music via the cell phone hookup, and if a call comes in, it just switches to the phone option. I personally don't listen to music while riding so It's not a problem for me. Connecting directly to the bike and using it's electronics is a much cleaner way of doing things, the Freewire was not available in 2012, if you buy one of these and are planning on being at the rally, I would be interested in seeing it though!.

If you need pin outs for the Voyager 1700 system, I can provide a schematic from my shop manual.

Yes the 5 pin din, pin out is the same for the 1700 as the Gold Wing

OK, so now I'm confused. I got responses from Hank43 and Highway Rider that indicate that the 1700 is a 5-pin system. Neal indicates it is a 7-pin. I think they are both right! Looking at the schematics, Chapter 16, Page 108(16-108), Item-14, I see that the rider pin-out is 5-pin and the passenger pin-out Item-5, is 7-pin. Obviously I want to be able to hear/talk to ALL the devices (including Deb ... GRIN) and she wants to be able to at lease hear/talk to me. A local Kawasaki/Honda/Can-Am dealer says they want to "do" a Voyager and will work with me. (I hear $$$) Has anyone actually done this? What about the VOX function?

With in a 5 pin system there are 2 pins for the mike and then 1 pin is a common for the speakers and the 1 pin for left speaker and 1 pin for right speacker

As you can see the 7 pin is wired differently then the 5 pin. But the 6th pin is not used and the 7th pin is a connection to the wire shielding which is grounded and that is to help combat interference I believe.

Thanks to Hank I have a Kawasaki CB mounted on my 1700. Both connectors are five pin which is the same as the gold wing. I know because sometimes I plug into the passenger plug.
