If my math is right GrandpaDenny will be having rotator cuff surgery on Feb 11th.
Well I too will be under the knife on the 11th, mine will be to have my entire right kidney removed. Thru incidental findings a large mass was discovered on that kidney just a few weeks ago. My oncologist (hate saying that) determined the due to size and cancer concerns (so far seems contained) that it should come out. On Thursday it was getting scheduled for March but late yesterday I was informed that it was in 4 days, Feb 11th.
I won't be much fun for Valentine's Day, I hope Beth don't mind !
Happy Valentine's Day

Meanwhile, around here on Tuesday we'll try to straighten out my deviant nose.
What happened Nails, did it get stuck somewhere it shouldn't have?
We've got a son-in-law with nasal issues but he won't get it looked at or fixed. At times he sounds like an old bulldog!
Thanks guys, I'm sure Denny feels the same and I hope he gets fixed up so riding can be his therapy!

Hey,Scott,we will be praying for your recovery
As far as old guys Rule,I do not feel that I rule as I recover from my total shoulder replacement surgery
There are nights I can not get comfortable enough to get much sleep, although it is improving as I get closer to 2 weeks out.
I've never been thru this before but hope to be able to sleep 2 weeks out form it.
Hoping to be back to work in 4 weeks, my boss says take as long as yoy need - just get back here in 2 weeks!
Doc says up to 8 but 4 is reasonable as long as I listen.

Scott, yikes that's scary, best wishes for an awesomely speedy recovery. Nails - is there any part of you that isn't deviant? <grin> Yes, I'm going in for surgery tomorrow; thanks for the good wishes. Anybody heard from our other shoulder surgery patient?

My convalescent recliner is all set up. This is so Deanna can get some sleep, plus she won't have far to step-n-fetch a beer to me. (I had a tiny bell on a table next to the chair, but it's already gone missing.) She'll head back to CA on Saturday, whether I'm crawling to the fridge or not.
Personally, I think you guys should pick simpler operations. No complicated joints. No guts-n-stuff.

Yeh,Nails,my recliner has been my most used appliance since my shoulder replacement
I was able to sleep pretty well the last 2 nights
You guys are killing me with the brotherly humor! I love it!!!!
Loren, glad you are finally getting some sleep. I hope each night gets better and better. Denny, today's the day. I lose a pound or so and you gain some plastic and titanium!
Between us 3 and Nails, we make the cast of a new Marvel movie, the Senior Super Heros!!!!!
The shoulder wasn't hurting much until a little while ago the pain woke me up. took some Motrin. I'm tring not t o take the narcotic stuff matter of fact haven't picked it up from CVS yet. recliner nesting for me too with cat in lap. I'm so sick of watching tv - I normally don't subject myself to thattorture.

Denny sorry for the pain waking you. For me the pain is/was each time trying to get into bed. With 7 holes in my abdominal area basically any movement hurts somewhat but getting into bed felt like I was tearing muscle tissue. And with only 1 kidney now, I pee alot. Eventually my body will grow to adjust but for now it's annoying
Hang in there Denny. Find a good book or older motorcycle magazines to read between naps!
Same can work for you too Loren. I'm sure you've got one or two laying around somewhere.

I suspect that a nerve block wore off. Mine took about 30 hrs.

With all due respect, that's kinda stupid. Take the dang pain meds. I only needed the narcs a little more than a day. Not nearly as hard on you as watching Boss Hog. I used about 600mg Ibu for a couple more days and tapered to nada. YMMV
I got my nose reamed. It's been a bloody mess and pretty painful. I hate Oxy most of all, but that's what I got. I pounded them straight through the night, then spread a couple more over the next day. Now I'm dialed back to OTC Ibu doses. It feels like rubbing on a raw wound, which it is. My nose is packed with some stuff to keep the wounds from growing together; and that should dissolve in a few days. In the meantime, I'm getting cottonmouth.

That's what I'm looking forward to: bilateral hernias and excising a tumor in my pancreas. The hernias are small and years old already, but they've kept me out of the gym since June. The tumor isn't likely malignant, and I've apparently had it for decades. Lately, it goes nuts secreting insulin, which periodically makes me hypoglycemic and stupid.
