Voyager XII engine rebuild

Post by popper52 »

Just tore down the top end of my 86 XII due to loss of compression in #1 cylinder. Looks like carbon caused issues with the exhaust valves. So a valve job is in order. Cylinders and rings okay. carbon build up on top of #1 piston. My question is about the oversize kit. If anyone has any experience with it? Is it worth it, etc? I'm thinking about going that route, may have to go with a sidecar set up due to a shoulder injury.

If you haven't already, you first call or email should be to Carl Leo. Probably knows more about the XII than anyone. He is a great source of information & is willing to help anyone. Good luck..

You might also look into why #1 carboned up, such as too rich a mixture on that cylinder, and why :hmm:
