About how Many?

Post by lockwoodjohn »

Hi Everyone,
I was just wondering if anyone has a idea how many Voyagers were made from the first year
Kawasaki started producing them(what year?) until 2003? Not counting the 1700.

Thanks,
lockwoodjohn

There were 2500 made per year untill 2003 that year as tooling was wearing out only 700 were made. I asked my brother Duane if he knew and he gave me the answer.

How did your brother know how many were made? Mfgr's seem to never release those figures

Tooling wearing out? I doubt that. Others have said there were a lot of left over 2002 parts so Kaw decided to make the bike in 2003. But that's not confirmed either.

The tooling was wearing out. Carl has mentioned several times how the last 3 years seem to have more issues, such as transmission shift forks/dogs, that hadn't really ever been problems before.

There were hints of a new Voyager in the mid 90's but there seemed to be a lack of interest in a new and improved Voyager .A lot of people said they should leave it just the way it was-- ,so they did.By 2003 the interest was there ,but the numbers were still not high enough to move ahead .
