I know I ask al ot of questions... Here's another - 1st gear
When the bike is started (full choke to start then I give it time to warm up). I can go from first into neutral but if I go from first into second, it will not ratched up into second until after it warms up (about 5 minutes of riding).
I checked the clutch reservior and fluid is full, fluid looks clean. Clutch lever does not bind and shifter lever works fine.
The hydrolic clutch thing is new to me...
Any troubleshooting steps are appreciated.
Thanks again!
Steve

Shift at or just above 3000 RPM and it should go into second easily.

The Voyager XII is designed that way to avoid shifting before the engine is warmed up. This is the positive neutral finder everyone talks about. Rev to 3000 rpm until the engine is circulating oil and it will shift normally.

I did get that thought about the warmup, I just need a bit more patience...Mr Jensee wrote:The Voyager XII is designed that way to avoid shifting before the engine is warmed up. When I'm new to a bike, every little idosyncrasy comes into mind as if something is wrong.
..and the online documentation is appreciated (your signature link)!
Thanks again!

My 87 does that also. When on the center stand running it in the winter I have to go to 1st then it will go to 2nd right away. I start it every 2 weeks and run it till the fan kick on, While in gear.

Not necessary to start it in the winter. Add some Seafoam to the gas, then park it till spring.

If you do this, you will definitely also want a "battery tender" of some sort. . . .voyager55 wrote:Not necessary to start it in the winter. Add some Seafoam to the gas, then park it till spring.

I ride a little in the winter months (weather permitting ), but it is always on the tender.debron wrote:If you do this, you will definitely also want a "battery tender" of some sort. . . .voyager55 wrote:Not necessary to start it in the winter. Add some Seafoam to the gas, then park it till spring.

Where do you get a long enough extension Cord????HawkeSHR wrote:I ride a little in the winter months (weather permitting ), but it is always on the tender.debron wrote:If you do this, you will definitely also want a "battery tender" of some sort. . . .voyager55 wrote:Not necessary to start it in the winter. Couldn't help myself.
No, the devil didn't make me do it, I did it all my self..
Myself, rarely leave the bike alone long enough to need the tender, but I use one when I need to (but not while riding).
