Just started thinking about this yesterday when I was hosing off the '00, the rear speakers, how much water can they handle?
Then I saw this guy on CL wanting to sell his '88 and saw these covers!?
I don't have any of those, do any of you?
I believe every bike came with the covers. Most disappear quickly. I've still got mine. They are black, not a color match to my '01. I seldom use them. Right now, even the speakers are off the bike.
Removed mine years ago. The mounts ocassionaly break anyway and it's that much less to bother with. Most of listening is with head sets anyway. With 40 years on a flight line I need music as close to my ears as possible. .............Gator Mike

I removed my rear speakers (didn't/don't have the covers) because I need the space on the trunk rack for hauling stuff, and I rarely listened to the radio (when it worked.)

You would be surprised at how much weight removing the speakers will take off the trunk lid also.

The rear speakers will take water as much as the rest of the bike. I never covered mine and washed and rode in the rain with no problems. The speaker covers were an accessory and did not come with the bikes.
