Voyager Tires

Post by bearclaw »

Anybody have any suggestions for tire replacement on the 2012 Voyager. The OEM Bridgestones just don't last. Just looking for other brand ideas that would get some better mileage.
Thanks

For the Michelin Commander II's, I can find the size for the front, but not the rear. What size do you recommend for the rear tire?

I'm running the 180-65-16. It's the closest fit. The difference is minimal and my speedo seems right on the money. Check out the web site and watch the videos on this page ...

I'm keeping a log of this tire set as the dealer said I was the first in the area to buy them. They want a report from me. Hope this helps.

Some people have had issues with front tires other than the Excedra or Excedra max. They have reported a wobble and bad tire wear. Others have had no issues. I didn't like the way the E3 wore on the front so I went to the Excedra Max and will continue to use it on the front.

On the rear I am on my second E3 in 160/80B16, and have gotten 16,000 out of the first and will probably get the same out of the current. I found it challenging to get the E3 in that size to jump up on the bead. (had to use an air cannon the last time). I now have a Commander II in the 180/65B16 waiting on the shelf so I will give it a try next.

If you are not sensitive to changes in tires (I notice even a change in tread pattern) you also have the option of going to radials or a Car Tire on the rear, but you have to be willing to get used to the change in handling.

Good luck.

Thanks for the info guys. I found a place that is selling the front and rear Commander II as a set. I think I'm going to give them a try.

20000 miles on the Voyager 1700? If so, you probably have the record.

That was on a 1200. I couldn’t believe it myself until I checked the mileage. I started to feel the difference in the rain and handling. With the replacements I can feel the grip on the road. I’m sticking with E3.
