Good morning my friends. Nails, that's funny. As for me, today makes three weeks since the surgery. I've been leaving the sling off more and more - when I start aching I put it back on. Started driving day before yesterday, one-handed. I start PT on Thursday, and having been through PT many times in my long adventurous life, I am very glad this young lady does not subscribe to the "no pain no gain" theory. She has worked wonders on my poor old abused body parts in the past (hey guys, whoa, I'm not getting dirty here. Would I like to? Oh hell yeah, she's a sweet purty young wisp of a thang, little tiny gal, just my favoritest kind. Now if she was a redhead I would REALLY have trouble behaving myself!). So, we shall see how it goes. Every day is a little better - a little more strength, a little more mobility, a little less pain. I've been doing pendulums for about a week I guess - every day a little bigger. I'm even typing two-handed now - so grateful to be able to get my elbow up on my desktop!

I'm looking forward to getting all healed up so I can work on my new.... BOAT! Yes, brothers, I am the proud owner of a free Com-pac 16 sailboat and trailer. It's, um, well... let's call it "neglected" and hope it isn't too bad. Needs some fiberglass work on the keel and new cushions and probably a repower (I'll get one of those $200 or less Chinese outboards from Amazon) and who knows what shape the wiring and lights are in. No big deal, I was an Electrician in the Navy (and for a decade after) and speak fluent Small Boat.

What a year - went from owning a broken-down $800 bike to getting her all fixed up and then torpedoed to owning a car, a bike, and a boat. I'm even in the early stages of house hunting!

I thought the best part was messaging the suture line.

Yeah, for my shoulder, my PTs also stifled their natural proclivities toward pain. I think that's because it's too easy to screw up the surgery without even causing much pain. (But for rehab after wearing a cast on my wrist, where a nerve from my neck shrunk, stretching it back was just a matter of how much pain I could tolerate.)

That seems like a lot of boat for free. Hope it's actually fixable. They're usually "holes in the water where you throw money." (Of coarse people say similar about motorcycles.)

Nails, I love how you returned to your ENT more friendly than before passing the bloody boogers! ๐Ÿ˜‚

Denny, if you get the trailer lights fixed you should be able to triple what you paid for it! Especially since it was free, if the boat is fixable and sea worthy you are so far ahead of the game. ๐Ÿ‘

Loren, we are all hoping that you are healing and well. ๐Ÿ™

As for me, yesterday we met with the oncologist to review pathology results and make sure the surgery sight was healing. Well the healing is going well and the results were such that it was definitely cancer and aggressive but by the grace of God ๐Ÿ™, it was completely removed all at once with no evidence of it anywhere else. Back in 6 months but now I can happily proclaim that I am cancer free!!!

That's so cool Scott, glad for you. Cancer is SCARY. So glad they got it all.

As for the boat, I'm told the keel has been fixed and the boat is seaworthy. I received the tiller, which is in like-new state and really nice varnished wood. Also received the cabin bag and a Very pistol. Why wasn't all that with the boat? Who knows? It was in his studio. He's an artist, so of course he's even weirder than I! Er, eccentric, yeah, yeah, that's the word, eccentric. Uh huh. Yup. As for the trailer, he's got no paperwork at all for it. Apparently the original trailer he gave away to somebody who needed a trailer and then scored this one off Craigslist years ago with no paperwork. As long as I don't leave the City of Philadelphia with it there are no worries of getting pulled over - they do not do traffic stops in Philly. Real rap. So anyway I'll be keeping my eyes open for a legitimate trailer or something. It probably won't be until next year that I put the boat in the water - working on healing this year. So I'm taking online courses, and going through my huge stash of sailing magazines, brushing up on navigation and all that neat stuff. It has been a very long time.

Nails, glad you're feeling better.

Loren, keep up the good work and don't overdo it.

Ha ha, Denny some.of us are what you would call "Land Lovers" or is it "Lubbers", so I had to look up "very postol" thinking it was a part of the boat/sail mast or something unique. Then found it's a flare gun! ๐Ÿ˜‚ . If thr trailer is in decent shape ans functional you could get it titled in PA with other a lost title or special/reconstructed title. When I built a box trailer from Harbor Freight I had to get a title created for it from PennDOT. Cost nearly $240 fifteen years ago. But if you do stay withing the city limits you should be fine. If so, I want a picture of you with Boathouse Row behind you. Of wait, to take that pic someone would have to be on the Sure-kill/Schuylkill expressway and that's not good.๐Ÿซข๐Ÿ˜ฎ
