To remove the Radio I suggest you take off the fairing totally along with the windshield etc..
Unbolt the headlight and unplug the bulb but leave the cable in place that adjusts the hight.
Trace all the wires that plug into the Radio and mark and unplug as necessary
Remove the speaker grills with an allen key and remove and unplug the speakers.
Unscrew the two large black bolts under the front of the radio.
Move to the front of the bike and look up towards the top of the plastic that houses the clocks. There are two screws there, one either side.
Look at either side of the radio and you will see a rubber mounted bracket. This may already be broken due to old age.
Remove the screws that hold it to the radio.
If your Radio still has it, remove the bezel around the outside of the radio. This is often missing because it falls off.
Now this is where others may have a better way of doing it, but I removed the cowling around the clocks by lifting the back of the cowling at the back, top and lifting the mounting tabs over the frame work where they were bolted on.
The whole cowling will now tilt forward. Just be carefull as it all feels like it will break while you are doing this.
Undo the 4 (10mm) nuts holding the clocks on and lift them out of the way.. You Dont need to unplug them. .Make a note there is a rubbber strip at the top of the clocks.. The wider part its on the clock faces.
now there are two large 13mm nuts holding the clock frame in place and you should be able to maneuver the radio out of its normal position.
Look a the top of the radio.. There are two screws holding it in place behind the front panel.. There are another two at the bottom of the radio in the same location.
You should now be able to slide the radio out of the framework together with the large rubber gasket will also be quite delicate due to age..
If Anyone has a better removal process, then let us in on the secret.
