Re: Change speedometer cable still not working
I have a new dilemma. I changed out the inside piece that was broken greased and changed brake pads, put everything back together, and I noticed that when Turn the Front wheel Forward speedometer cable won’t turn, but when I turned the wheel backwards, the cable turns so my question is do I have something backwards? I didn’t think that I did because I put everything back the way it Came apart. Can somebody please tell me what I’m doing wrong thank you.

Probably not sticking the inner cable in far enough. You usually have to turn it to line it up.

I agree with Nails, it sounds like the inner cable isn't completely seated and when the handlebars turn it slips just enough to not engage. Just separate the cable at both ends (one at a time) and re-seat it. You should feel it slip into position.
